Receive our dive reports

Wabasso

We watched the NOAA report for Saturday change seemingly by the hour. Some of the hunters were scared by the call, some of us went hunting. Andy and I went to a favorite reef for a quick vis check, and we were amazed to have top to bottom vis. I certainly wasn’t prepared for that!

We were hunting for small fish today, fish for the aquariums. There were plenty to gather, and we ended with an assortment of 12. We only made one dive, and decided to head home with our new friends. The survival rate is 100% and they all look great.

There was a current pulling us to the north, but it was mild enough to swim against easily. I had on a 3mm shorty with a skin, and never felt chilled. There were plenty of urchins. I should have grabbed one or two, but decided to come back another day. There were several types of coral. I also saw tarpon, pompano and lookdowns.
