A report from TONY
Despite rough seas, and some strong morning wind Saturdays trip was great.
As the first group geared up for their dive I was writing down #'s, and happen to see two dolphin next to the boat. I turned to Thomas for a rod, and another dolphin flashed on his side of the boat. Thanks to all of the crap in my boat the dolphin swam away safely!!
First groups dive was on the ledge, they said their vis was 40'. Randy caught 8 bugs, and Thomas had 3.
I followed were they stopped. When I hit the bottom I new I was close, because their were broken antennas at the bottom of the jug line. Damn rookies. I managed to get 9 bugs, and leave more for Randy.
Randy moved along the ledge only to find it end about 100' from the beginning of his dive. He gathered 5 bugs, and had some stories about his spear gun accuracy.
Thomas started to go to work on a new ledge for him. He said it was large ledge with deep under cuts. Spotted two large nurse sharks, and shot some nice mangos for the grill. He did brig up 3 more bugs, so the little guys in the live well had to be let go to make room for the bigger ones.
I found a new spot on the way to my dive site. with the limit all ready I decided to do an exploration dive. Their was not much, but small ledges and sand rolls. I swam along for 15 minutes only to see tropicals, and sand dollars. At the end of the dive a saw the only cave down their with a nice 7lb waiting for me...;).
Randy and I did the last dive of the day. Thomas was tired and was kind enough to Capt. the boat. Randy and I hit the bottom, and went after fish. We could see each other as a LARGE nurse shark crossed between us. We decided to head the opposite direction. Only to find another nurse of equal size working the other end of the reef. I found a nice trolling lure, and called it a great day. ( Randy swears that a black tip shark swam passed him in the beginning of the dive).
